Henri Alfred Jacquemart (1824-1896) Zebu and python Bronze with brown patina Signed "A. JACQUEMART" on the front of the terrace H. 34 cm, terrace W. 38 x D. 12 cm From 1847 to 1879, Henri-Alfred Jacquemart exhibited a number of animal groups at the Salon, making his name. He received several commissions from the City of Paris, and made a name for himself at the 1878 Universal Exhibition with the famous Rhinoceros, now preserved on the esplanade of the Musée d'Orsay.
