Fort in-8 bound in full shagreened calf, boards decorated with a framing floral roulette, highly ornate ribbed spine, title-piece, inner roulette, gilt edges (fine bullion), fine English binding - [2 ff.], 426 pp. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Holbein, engraved by Sharp after Holbein's own drawing, 6 pll. h-t including 2 photographic reproductions of Holbein's drawings, and numerous in-t (in-t vignettes, headbands, initials, culs-de-lampe). In fine, inventory of works owned by King Henry VIII in 1547 and catalog of portraits of Henry VIII's court figures from the Royal Collection at Windsor in 1866.
