Reunion of 2 works concerning Hans Holbein. 1/ - Ralph Nicholson Wornum. - Some account of the life and works of Hans holbein, painter of Augsburg. With numerous illustrations. London, Chapman and Hall, 1867. Fort in-8 bound in full shagreened calf, boards decorated with a framing floral roulette, highly ornate ribbed spine, title-piece, inner roulette, gilt edges (fine bullion), fine English binding - [2 ff.], 426 pp. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Holbein, engraved by Sharp after Holbein's own drawing, 6 pll. h-t including 2 photographic reproductions of Holbein's drawings, and numerous in-t (in-t vignettes, headbands, initials, culs-de-lampe). In fine, inventory of works owned by King Henry VIII in 1547 and catalog of portraits of Henry VIII's court figures from the Royal Collection at Windsor in 1866. Fine condition. 2/ - [Anonymous] - Icones veteris testamenti; illustrations of the old testament, engraved on wood, from designs by Hans Holbein. London, William Pickering, 1830. In-8, bound in half morocco morocco (long grain) bradel, gilt title - 14 pp. (including title). Illustrated with 90 captioned woodcuts, accompanied by a leaflet with translations of the captions, given in English, Latin, French, Italian and Spanish.
