Originally from Antwerp, animal sculptor Albéric Collin exhibited at the Salon des artistes Français from 1922 to 1927 and at the Salon des indépendants, where he won a gold medal in 1921. A close friend of Rembrandt Bugatti, he sculpted wild and domestic animals. For the Belgian Congo pavilion at the Brussels World Fair in 1935, he created a monumental concrete sculpture of a mounted Elephant. In accordance with the artist's wishes, the bronze edition of his works is limited to seven copies.
