Albéric Collin (1886-1962) Eagle on a rock Circa 1932 Patinated plaster Signed "Alberic Collin" and dated "1932". H. 60 cm Originally from Antwerp, animal sculptor Albéric Collin exhibited at the Salon des artistes Français from 1922 to 1927 and at the Salon des indépendants, where he won a gold medal in 1921. A close friend of Rembrandt Bugatti, he sculpted wild and domestic animals. For the Belgian Congo pavilion at the Brussels World Fair in 1935, he created a monumental concrete sculpture of a mounted Elephant. In accordance with the artist's wishes, the bronze edition of his works is limited to seven copies.
