René Babin (1919-1997) Seated, pensive woman 1950 Terracotta proof, no. 8/8 Numbered, signed and dated on the back "8/8 R. Babin 1950". 23.5 x 13 x 14.5 cm René Babin trained with Charles Malfray at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués and in direct carving, taking part in sculpture restoration projects for the Monuments Historiques. Femme assise pensive was produced in bronze and terracotta from a larger, solid-bodied sculpture carved in marble.
