In 1928, Lucile Passavant met Aristide Maillol, who welcomed her into his studio in Marly-le-Roi. The young girl became the sculptor's model and pupil. She posed for the central figure in Les Nymphes de la prairie. In addition to posing, Lucile Passavant took up woodcutting and sculpture. Following the death of Maillol, who was strongly influenced by his master's style, she embarked on a career as a sculptor, publishing and exhibiting her first bronzes from 1954. Her passion for sculpture remained with her until her death in 2012.
