Autograph letter from the publisher. A love story set in the tropical, lush and serene setting of Siam (Thailand) at the beginning of the 20th century. Poh Deng, a young Siamese, grows up near the young Mè Ping. A love affair develops. But as the future unfolds, Mè Ping is chosen to become a dancer at the Royal Court Ballet, while Poh Deng joins the Buddhist monks' corps. Their destinies seem to diverge... A particularly desirable copy due to the quality of its binding.
