Jean LETOURNEUR (1954) Galaxy collisions 2010 Charcoal on Canson paper (mounted on stretcher) Monogrammed (on all four sides) 150 x 150 cm Collision of galaxies spontaneously evokes the clouds of the Assumption painted in the Renaissance or Baroque periods. Jean Letourneur's drawings reproduce the movements that animate clouds (cat. no. 192) and galaxies. He has studied these fluid-mechanical movements in a number of telescopic photographs. His square-format work can be positioned on all sides. Exhibition: 2012, Meudon, Centre d'art et de culture: La quête de l'unité.
