René LETOURNEUR (1898-1990) Danaé Model of 1934 Studio plaster 120 x 35 x 25 cm When he carved his Danaé in 1934, René Letourneur replaced a piece of pink Milan marble taken from his Léda (see cat. no. 7). After being cast for an edition, the Danaé marble was immediately acquired by a French private individual. The marble is now in a private collection in New York.
