Pierre-Jean de Béranger. - L.A.S. to M. Guyandin (or Guisand - Lot 239
Pierre-Jean de Béranger. - L.A.S. to M. Guyandin (or Guisandin) in Fontainebleau December 12 [1836] ,1 f° folded in two. Béranger announces to his neighbor his move to Tours. "We had a very good trip for the season, but a little slower than we wished. Our cats have been models of wisdom and would be willing to return to their basket if necessary. We brought our furniture forward, without which we would already be settled, although not everything is finished in my new hermitage, but our friends had provided for the most pressing." In fact, we know that Pierre-Jean de Béranger, the famous Bonapartist chansonnier, after living in Fontainebleau from 1835 to 1836, moved to Saint-Cyr near Tours in December 1836. We have found no trace of his correspondent in Fontainebleau.
