Militaria ancien régime - Lot 237
Militaria ancien régime 1/ - Louis Joseph de Bourbon Condé. - LS to the mayors and syndics of Saint-Rambert ordering the singing of a Te deum following the king's victory in Hesse. September 23, 1762. Probably to celebrate the Lutterberg victory of July 23, 1762. 2/ - Saligny, Count of Lyon. - LAS to the Comte de Mory informing him of the success of his steps for the proofs of his daughters. July 29, 1765. 2 leaves, red wax seal with the arms of Count Saligny. 3/ - Marbeuf, Count of Lyon. - LAS to the Comte de Mory on the same subject. August 1, 1765. 2 ff. Red wax seal broken but complete. 4/ - Charles Louis Auguste Fouquet de Belle-Isle. - LS to two correspondents whose names are illegible (Sion and Assoin?) to reproach them for the seizure of a tartane loaded with merchandise for Agde at the mouths of the Rhône by an armed barque racing to Mahon, when the preliminaries of peace had been signed. June 7, 1748 at the Nice camp. These are the preliminaries to the Treaty of Aix la Chapelle, which put an end to the War of the Austrian Succession. Marshal de Belle-Isle commanded the troops stationed around Nice as part of the naval war pitting Franco-Spanish forces against English and Austrian armies. The seizure of this tartane, probably an enemy vessel, constitutes an error due to haste and ignorance of the law of the sea and the time limits to be respected before boarding a ship. Belle-Isle disclaims his responsibility and informs his correspondents that he can be of no help to them in this matter. 5/ - André, comte de la Rivière and Guillaume de Frasans. - Certificate of service in the name of Philippe de Pellisser, who served in the Dijon company from May 18 to September 18, 1689. 1 printed page, red wax seal.
