This was the first complete atlas of the British Isles. - The Counties of Leinster with the citie Dublin, described by J. Speed. Thomas Basset and Richard Chiswell, 1610. Text on spine, pages 141-142 of "Theatrum". Beginning of tear at top of center fold. Inset, detailed plan of Dublin. Maritime section decorated with a ship and a fantastic sea animal. - The Province of Connaugh with the city of Galwaye, described by J. Speed. Thomas Basset and Richard Chiswell, 1610. Text on spine, pages 143-144 of "Theatrum" - slight creasing to upper centerfold - Inset plan of the city of Galwaye, illustrated with boats on the Corrid. Three attractive illustrated cartouches including a compass rose surrounded by 2 cherubs, the arms of the province and a compass held by 2 cherubs. Size of cards 44.5 x 57.2 cm, at sight.
