Charlotte MONTGINOT (1872-1962). Gilt bronze and carved ivory chryselephantine statuette of a young Japanese girl in kimono. Signed Ch. Monginot on the terrace and numbered ''570''. One hand broken and detached, one kanzashi (bun spike) twisted, traces of glue in the hair; one object originally in her hands is missing? France, 19th / 20th century. H. 23.8 cm Gross weight 2201 grams. Charlotte MONTGINOT was the daughter of painter Charles MONGINOT (1825-1900). She was a pupil of Denys PUECH (1854-1942) and a member of the Société Française des Artistes. A CIC will be issued to the purchaser.
