Beautiful officer's or dignitary's sword, probably foreign model, chased and gilded brass cross, decorated with a Gorgon's head in a lozenge surrounded by foliage, two straight quillons in the shape of arrowheads with acanthus leaves emerging from the mouth of a lion, pommel in the shape of a heraldic helmet in front, spindle with two mother-of-pearl plates embellished with a large silver monogram: "A" surmounted by a count's crown; one-third gilded and blued, flattened diamond-shaped blade; leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings; length 97 cm. It is presented with a leather sword-holder covered with white cloth (scabbard probably not original). First third of the 19th century. Very good condition.
