Footed service sword for a gendarme of the King's Household, chased and gilded brass hilt, patterned, the arms of France replaced by an eagle, fully filigree spindle; triangular-section blade, gilded and blued one-third, signed on the heel: "S. H. F" ; leather scabbard with two brass fittings; length 97 cm. (Composite; missing bolt). Restoration period. Good condition.
