Vendémiaire An XII-type staff officer's saber, chased and gilded brass hilt, crossed with large auricles adorned with a Greek warrior on one side and a fleuron and scales on the other, ebony spindle with oblique fluting; curved damascus blade with a hollow edge and a groove running along the back to the counter-edge, etched on one half with foliage, turqueries and trophies; iron scabbard with three chased and gilded brass fittings, two bosses decorated with the bust of Henri IV in the center of a fleuron and, on the back, with a lion's nose, foliage guard, brass sting; length 94 cm. Restoration period. Good condition.
