Revolutionary officer's saber of the petit Montmorency type, gilded brass shell guard, openwork forming a rosette, with, in the middle, a rooster in a medallion, openwork top, long-tailed skullcap terminating in an empanelled helmet, spindle entirely filigree with gilded wires; blade with a hollow pan and a lateral groove along the back, in the middle, blued and gilded to a third, marked, on one face, in a cartouche: "LA NATION - LA LOI" and, on the other: "LE ROY" (le roy effacé); wooden scabbard with two large fillet-engraved brass fittings and splints, stingray-covered hollows, brass stinger; length 96 cm.
