Carabiniere-type saber, openwork brass battle guard adorned with a silver grenade, long-tailed skullcap terminating in an empanelled helmet, leather-covered, filigree spindle; Montmorency-type blade, etched on one half with trophies and foliage (trace of gilding); iron and brass scabbard, with two filleted hollows, iron stinger; length 113.5 cm. (Composite: the cap and fuse are from the late 18th century; the blade from the second half of the 19th century). Partly First Empire period. Good condition.
