Naoum Aronson (1872-1943) Bust of the composer Ludwig von Beethoven Circa 1095 Bronze with green patina Signed, located and dated "L. Aronson / Bonn / 1905". Bears the founder's stamp "CIRE PERDUE M. RONNI RADICE A.P". H. 35 x L. 25.3 x W. 24.9 cm This bust of Beethoven is one of a series of portraits of composers by Naoum Aronson. Originally from Russia, Naoum Aronson moved to Paris in 1891, where he met Auguste Rodin. After training with Hector Lemaire at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, he painted portraits of artistic personalities. In 1920, he exhibited two copies of Beethoven's bust at the Galerie Decour, one in marble and the other in bronze, alongside portraits of Chopin, Wagner and Berlioz.
