Hubert Yencesse (1900-1987) Diana on the rock Circa 1940 Bronze with brown patina Signed "HUBERT YENCESSE". Bears the founder's mark "Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris". H. 47.5 cm, on a black Belgian marble base H. 16.9 cm Born into an artistic family and a student at the École des Beaux-arts de Dijon from 1919, Hubert Yencesse met François Pompon (1855-1933) and became his pupil. Awarded the Blumenthal Prize in 1934, he moved to Paris and worked with Aristide Maillol until 1936.
