RELIGIOUS FERVOR Suite of THIRTY-EIGHT CRUCIFIX silver pendants of the second grade 800/1000. According to a handwritten note in the box containing this unique collection, these crosses were worn by the nursing sisters of the Congregation of Compassion in Rouen. H.10,5 L.4.7 D. 0.5 cm Gross weight 1520 g This set, comprising several dozen examples of an identical model, is striking for the variety of degrees of wear on each object: some are in almost new condition, while others have been worn a great deal and have seen their decoration virtually disappear under the tactile fervor of faith.
