Oval-shaped element in 18K gold 750‰ and silver 2nd title 800‰, adorned at its center with a lapis lazuli cameo, engraved in brilliant and matte with an anthropomorphic scarab, inspired by antique heart scarabs. In a setting decorated with garlands set with rose-cut diamonds. On the back, a bayonet system allowing this motif to be worn either as a brooch or on a bracelet (missing). Probably French, circa 1870. Traces of use, cameo to be reattached. Dim. 3.40 x 4.60 cm Gross weight 23.40 g The collections of the Musée du Louvre include antique heart scarabs (13th dynasty, 1786-1686) as early as 1820, models that probably inspired our glyptician.
