Collection of 5 medical works: 1/ Sydenham. - Médecine pratique, avec des notes ; Ouvrage traduit en François, sur la dernière édition Angloise, par feu M. A.F. Jault. Nouvelle édition. A Avignon Chez la Ve Seguin, et à Paris, chez Pougens, An VII (1799). 2 volumes in-8, contemporary marbled basane, ornate smooth spines, fawn and black morocco titles and endpapers, corners and spines rubbed, freckles on flyleaves and endpapers - xlviij, 735 pp. (continuous pagination). Important work by the "Father of English Medicine". Sydenham (1624-1689) was one of the great figures of internal medicine of his time. He is notably credited with a precise description of gout (in the second volume). François Jault ( 1700 - 1757) , physician, translator and orientalist, was in the service of the Duc d'Orléans. 2/ Blancardi, Stefani. Lexicon Medicum Tripertitum, Renovatum, In quo artis medicae termini in Anatome, Chirurgia, Pharmacia, Chymia, Re Botanica, etc... Editio novissima... Addidit et interiecit D. Lipsiae, Schwikerti, 1777. 2 volumes in-8, eopoque marbled calf, ornate ribbed spines, brown morocco title-pieces, red edges, 2 headpieces worn, upper jaw of second volume split over 4 cm, one corner dull, others rubbed, some leaves browned, freckles and stains - [1 f.], XIV, 1478 pp. (continuous pagination), 2 folding plates. Stephen Blankaart (1650-1704) was interested in various branches of science, as a physicist, entomologist (he collaborated with Mara Sybilla Merian) and physician, which enabled him to produce several comprehensive glossaries, including this one on medicine. 3/ Boisseau, F.-G.- Pyrétologie physiologique, ou Traité des Fièvres considérées dans l'esprit de la nouvelle doctrine médicale.
