In-8, bound in full red morocco with the coat of arms of Philippe d'Orléans, brother of Louis XIV(1640-1701), set against a semis of fleurs-de-lis and double crowned P's, framed by two very fine roulettes, spine decorated with the monogram of Philippe d'Orléans, edges gilt - Corners sagging, upper jaw partly split, a few small stains, small gaps and erosions of leather, body of book partially unstuck, the last 12 leaves are gnawed in the upper corner with a small damage to the text.- [16], 750 pp. ruled edition, engraved frontispiece, 7 plates out of text, three engraved after Herman Weyen.
