Traictées bien amplement les manières de distiller eaux, huiles, quintes essences de toute sorte de matières, préparer l'antimine la poudre de mercure, faire les extractions, les sels artificiels, l'or potable. Rouen, Jean Baptiste Behouet, 1628. Small in-8 bound in full bronze-green morocco, boards decorated with stamped double fillet, spine ribbed, author and title gilt, edges gilt (rel. A. Lobstein) - Short upper margin - [8 ff., title, epistle, blank], 297 ff., [29 pp., alphabetical table and table of diseases]. Illustrated with 50 in-t figures (including 1 on the title) depicting laboratory instruments (retorts, alembics, furnaces, water baths, athanors...). The most famous French work of its kind, whose reputation was established from 1579 (E.O.) to the mid-17th century.
