After training at the Beaux-Arts in Liège and Brussels under Paul Dubois and Égide Rombaux, sculptor Jeanne Tercafs settled in Paris and attended various Salons from 1930 onwards.
During a trip to the Congo, she produced a number of life-size busts, notably of the Mangbetu people.
