Émile Just Bachelet (1892-1981) Child Bronze with brown patina Signed "C. J. Bachelet" on the terrace Bears the founder's stamp "C. VALSUANI CIRE PERDUE H. 30 cm, on a Belgian black marble base H. 10 cm Damage to base Émile Bachelet studied with sculptor Ernest Bussière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, before entering the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Between the wars, he created numerous war memorials, busts and nudes. In 1931, he took part in the International Colonial Exhibition and the Universal Exhibitions of 1935 and 1937.
