Georges Gardet (1863-1939) Duck at a pond Bronze with brown patina Signed "G. GARDET" lower right Bears the founder's stamp "CIRE PERDUE C. VALSUANI" lower left H. 11.5 x L. 21.5 cm Georges Gardet trained with Aimé Millet and Emmanuel Frémiet. The numerous bronze editions of his animal groups by various foundries reflect the sculptor's considerable success at the Salon, where he exhibited from 1883 to 1914.
