Jean Marie Joseph Magrou (1869-1945) Woman and panther Bronze with double bronze and silver patina Signed "JEAN MAGROU" on the terrace H. 35 cm, terrace W. 50 x D. 31 cm, on a green marble base H. 3 cm Born in Béziers, Jean Magrou trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studios of Jean-Antoine Injalbert (1845- 1933), also from Béziers, and Gabriel Thomas (1824-1905). He was awarded the Second Prix de Rome, exhibited at the Salon and took on public commissions.
