Eugène Marioton (1857-1933) The Venetian singer Bronze with light-brown patina Signed "MARIOTON Sculp. "on the terrace Titled "CHteur VENITIEN" on the front Bears the founder's stamp "SIOT DECAUVILLE FONDEUR PARIS". Numbered "6555" on the back of the terrace H. 32 cm Eugène Marioton, brother of sculptor Claudius Marioton, devoted his artistic career to sculpture and medal engraving. His debut at the 1882 Salon heralded an abundant output that continued for some fifty years. His work is characterized by its diversity of subjects (portraits, antique scenes, allegories, genre scenes).
