Hippolyte Moulin (1832-1884) Marianne Small life-size bust in bronze with brown patina Signed "H. MOULIN" and dated "1867" below left shoulder H. 26 cm A student of Antoine-Louis Barye and Auguste Ottin, Hippolyte Moulin was a committed sculptor. Deeply involved in the Paris Commune, he founded the Fédération des artistes de la Commune de Paris in April 1871, alongside Gustave Courbet and Eugène Pottier.
