This stunning collection of Dado's drawings comes from two prestigious collections, mainly that of Daniel Cordier (1920-2020). The gallerist collector was fascinated by the artist from the moment he arrived in Paris from Belgrade in 1956, He marveled at these otherworldly drawings, combining traumatized childhood reminiscence and personal mythology, with no connection to the Parisian scene of the time. Close to Dubuffet and Réquichot on his arrival in France, Dado's work evolved with their company, in a monstrous virtuosity that cultivated like no other the propensity to make the living cohabit with the inanimate, to unearth beauty in horror or horror in beauty.
