Executed between 1903 and 1913 Signed on the base of the neck on the right: "DRIVIER". 28 x 17 x 18 cm A student of Barrias at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Léon-Ernest Drivier worked as a practitioner in Auguste Rodin's studio from 1907. A friend of Charles Despiau, Alfred Jean Halou, Jane Poupelet and Robert Wlérick, he was a member of the "Bande à Schnegg". In 1937, he took part in the decoration of the Palais de Chaillot, creating La joie de vivre. In addition to the public commissions he received for commemorative monuments, he produced numerous busts. This bust testifies to the period when he worked in Rodin's studio. His public collections include the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Musée Despiau-Wlérick in Mont-de-Marsan, the Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne-Billancourt, and the Musée de Grenoble, his birthplace.
