Edgar Brandt (1880-1960) Pelicans Wrought-iron bronze bookends with light-brown patina Signed "E.Brandt H. 17.5 x W. 16 x D. 8 cm Edgar Brandt, a wrought-iron artist and major industrialist, moved to Paris in 1902. He exhibited at the Salon between 1905 and 1914, and became a member of the jury for the Salon d'Automne and the Salon de la Société des Artistes Décorateurs. He worked with Ruhlmann, Daum and Lalique. He opened his own gallery in 1925, exhibiting works by his contemporaries as well as some of his own creations.
