Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) Left hand n°35 Circa 1966 Original bronze with greenish-brown patina Signed "A. Rodin Bears the founder's mark "Georges Rudier / Fon- deur. Paris" and the copyright of the Musée Rodin with the date "1966". Height 14.5 cm without base. Base 6.3 cm. Height Total height 20.8 cm Provenance: Musée Rodin, 1966 Throughout his career, Rodin was interested in the idea of the fragment, his artistic project being to strive for the essential. In the corpus of these fragments, he was particularly fascinated by the hands. He repeated them in series, with variations, and reused them in his famous assemblages. Our bronze is the eighth of an original edition limited to twelve. A purchase invoice from the Musée Rodin will be issued to the purchaser.
