Alfred Boucher (1850 - 1934) Joan of Arc Marble Signed "A.Boucher" and dated "1915". H. 32 cm This depiction of Joan of Arc as a child can be dated to the beginning of Alfred Boucher's career. He executed various versions in ceramic, wax and marble. Then, as was often the case, he produced a high-relief version, emerging from a block of marble. A more accomplished version, with a different cut-out from the marble block, can be found in the Musée de Nogent-sur-Seine.
