Box The sun in the head, 1977
Box containing fifteen original works by artists of the gallery Le soleil dans la tête, established in Paris at
10 rue de Vaugirard. Consecrated by an exhibition from December 2 to 23, 1977, this militant action supported by a text of Pierre Gaudibert wanted to be a "trace of the present", but also a gesture of creation in solidarity of the artists to help the gallery.
An edition of twenty boxes was initially envisaged.
Our copy contains fifteen (15) works:
- Charles ALGNER (1921-2000). Escalopes of turkeys. Mixed media, collage of cut out images enhanced with gouache and colored pencils, signed on the passepartout on mount. 23 x 26 cm (at sight)
- Olivier BRICE (1933-1989). Untitled, 1972. Print of object on cardboard plate, signed and dated lower right. 36 x 36,4 cm
- Jean COUY (1910-1983). Landscape. Pen drawing and ink wash pasted on cardboard, signed lower right. 23,5 x 27 cm (in view)
- FRANTA (born in 1930). Untitled. Ink on a silk-screen background. Signed lower center. 35,5 x 32,2 cm
David GILES (born in 1936). The queen bee. Photomechanical print, signed and titled at the top in the plate. 32,5 x 23 cm
- HOFFENBACH (XXth). Untitled. Collage of cut out images on a watercolor background (?), signed and dated August 77 at the bottom right. 33 x 33 cm
- HOLZER (XXth). Untitled. Gouache signed lower right. 30,5 x 20,5 cm (at sight)
- Marc GIAI-MINIET (born in 1946). Untitled, 1977. Graphite drawing, signed and dated in the center to the right. 33,5 x 34 cm
- France MITROFANOFF (born in 1942). Untitled. Pastel, signed at the bottom center. 26 x 26 cm (at sight).x000D_
- Antonio GARCIA MULET (born in 1932). Untitled, 1977. Ink (pen), signed and dated lower left. 36 x 36 cm.
- Peré PAGES (born in 1934). Untitled. Mixed technique, ink projected on paper, signed on the left side. 29 x 29,5 cm
- Jean RAINE (1927-1986). A total absence, 1977. Acrylic on paper pasted on cardboard, monogrammed on the lower right, signed, titled and dated 22/8/77 on the back of the mount. 31 x 23,5 cm.
- Jean REMLINGER (born in 1935). Untitled, 1977. Pen and black and pink ink wash on pencil lines, signed lower right and dated September 7, 1997 lower left. 26 x 22.5 cm (on view).x000D_
- Anne-Marie SOULCIÉ (born in 1948). Untitled, 1970. Drawing in graphite, signed and dated lower right. 36 x 36 cm.
- Raymond WAYDELICH (born in 1938). Untitled 1977. Mixed media, gouache on a collage background of cut up old printed papers and wet stamps, signed and dated upper right. 23 x 25,5 cm (at sight).
The set is completed by a handwritten text by Pierre Gaudibert, a handwritten letter from Nadine Musté, director of the gallery, justifying the approach, the invitation card of the exhibition is contained in the original cardboard box.
