IMPORTANT PANEL OF FINE TAPESTRIES from Aubusson, late 18th - early 19th century In wool and silk decorated with The Merchant of forgetfulness on the left and The Escarpolette on the right. Polychrome border with garlands of flowers and foliage in cords. Weft a little tired. Beautiful polychromy. 287 x 397 cm Similar tapestry panels can be found in the collections of the Constantin and Duplessis Museum in Carpentras, after cartoons by Julliard around 1778, who painted landscapes around a dozen compositions by François Boucher.
