Bound in green glazed half calf, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons, brown leather title-pieces, gilt lettering, boards covered with marbled paper. Epidermures, caps dull. Some foxing. Note in ink on the first volume : " The sceptre that death gives you and takes you back, The glory that one picks up in war while running, To make a famous name, to have great domains, To be emperor or king, these are human things, There is on this earth, where everything passes in its turn, Only one thing that is divine, and that is love !
