Identified by Barbier, the author remains unknown, probably related to General Louis François Perrin de Précy who defended Lyon against the armies of the Convention in 1793. The subject of the poem is the hunting with the pipée, that is to say with sticks covered with glue to trap all kinds of birds, particularly the owls.
