Lot on fencing. 1/ - Saint-Albin, Albert de. - The fencing rooms of Paris. Paris, Glady frères, 1875. In-8 paperback, filled cover (dusty) - [4 ff.], 200 pp;, [2 ff.] Illustrated with a frontispiece and 20 portraits of fencers h-t drawn and engraved by Ch.Courtry. Portrait of 71 fencers attending 13 renowned fencing halls and 22 teachers of small fencing halls. In fine, table of the names quoted in the work (446 persons). Edition at 550 copies, one of the 500 on Van Gelder Zonnen (not justified). 2/ - Vigeant. - Duels de Maîtres d'armes. Paris, Motteroz, 1884. Small square in-8 paperback, dust jacket imitating parchment, titled in red and black (in poor condition) - 106 pp., [3 ff.], engraved portrait of Bertrand (1797-1876) at the age of 75, in frontispiece. Relation of 2 famous duels Lafaugère- Bertrand and Bertrand-Lozès. Edition at 520 copies, one of 459 on white vellum (n° 107). 3/ - Engraving entitled "L'escrime française du XIXe siècle. Assault of arms of the Count of Bondy and Lafaugère", published by Vigna-Vigneron in 1891. List of 93 masters and amateurs with their portrait. A commentary relates this assault which took place in the hotel d'Orsay in 1816 between the prefect of the Seine Bondy and the master of arms of Lyon Lafaugère. This plate was intended to explain a color engraving drawn after Régamey's drawing and representing the scene with its actors and its main spectators. Heavy wetness affecting the right edge of the engraving. Size of the print, 15.2 x 29.8 cm. Framed engraving with a rear compartment to hold the 2 books described above.
