[surrealism] - A Corpse. Paris, Impr.Spéciale du Cadavre, 28 - Lot 294
[surrealism] - A Corpse. Paris, Impr.Spéciale du Cadavre, 288 rue de Vaugirard, [1930]. 4 pp. in-folio with folds (3 vertical, 3 hotizontal) and a small marginal tear. Famous and virulent pamphlet against André Breton with a photographic portrait-montage showing him wearing a crown of thorns. This text is signed by those who had just been attacked by Breton in the "Second Manifesto of Surrealism" published in December 1929. Texts by G. Ribemont-Dessaignes, J. Prévert, R. Queneau, M. Leiris, G. Limbour, J.A. Boiffard, R. Desnos, M. Morise, G. Bataille, J. Baron and A. Carpentier. George Bataille claimed that he himself destroyed 200 copies of the initial run of 500. So uncommon.
