Raymond Martin (1910-1992) Gérald Auffret van der Kemp (1912-2001) Three projects for a medal Workshop plaster casts One incised with the signature "RAYMOND MARTIN" on the rim; a second trace of signature in pencil "RAYMOND MARTIN One bears the inscription " GERALD VAN DER KEMP " on the rim Diam. 23,8 cm A medal in the effigy of Gérald van der Kamp, chief curator of the Museum of Versailles from 1953 to 1980 and member of the Academy of Fine Arts was commissioned to Raymond Martin. He illustrated the reverse of the medal with a sun head crowned with rays evoking Louis XIV in the upper register and a bull, emblem of strength, in the lower register. An edition of the General Collection of the Mint was cast in bronze in 1978 (diameter 81 mm). There is also a special edition of 40 mm in diameter.
