Marcel Gimond (1894-1961) Portrait of mademoiselle Tichadou Bronze with a golden patina. Signed " Gimond " and numbered " 2/8 ". Bears the founder's stamp " CIRE PERDUE BISCEGLIA ". H. of the bust 40 cm. Rests on a wooden base H. 10,6 cm Through this portrait, Marcel Gimond shows his attachment to figurative sculpture. He realized mainly busts of famous people, politicians and artists. He is particularly attached to the physical and psychological study of the models. The balance of the composition and the nature of the expression of this head translate his search for reality and life. The sculptor was inspired by his own reflections on sculpture, his training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and his travels during which he discovered the great sculptors of Antiquity and the Renaissance.
