Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810-1879) Hare hunting in the vineyards Bronze with brown patina Signed " PJ MENE " on the terrace H. 22 cm, terrace 39,5 x 20 cm For this group presented at the 1872 Salon, Mêne combined a figure and two independent groups: Hound grasping a hare and Hound (Trim) as well as the hare from the relief Plaque chaque hare and fish. This model, a rare edition, is one of the sculptor's last on the hunting theme.
