Pair of mahogany and Cuban mahogany veneer half-moon gun racks, the shaft in the shape of spear beams. Iron mark of the prince of Wagram at the castle of Grosbois. Empire period. Small accidents. H. 168 L. 62 D. 30 cm PROVENANCE: castle of Grosbois. The castle of Grosbois in Boissy-Saint-Léger became, in 1801, the property of General Moreau, who bought its furniture from Jacob and Bellangé. At his fall in 1804, Napoleon I acquired it then in 1805 gave it to Marshal Berthier, prince of Wagram. The latter, appointed Grand Veneur, made Grosbois the most beautiful hunting ground in Europe.
