Robert Wlérick (1882-1944) The Landaise with the capulet Model created around 1920-1922 White patinated terracotta Signed " R. WLÉRICK " on the left shoulder H. 29 cm In 1920, Robert Wlérick created a monument to the dead at the request of the town of Labrit, in the Landes. La Landaise au capulet (The Landaise with the capulet) takes up the figure of the veiled widow who, on the monument, is accompanied by her young daughter. The bust of this grieving young mother has become an independent work and is published in bronze in 8 copies and in 24 terracotta prints, 8 of which are numbered.
