Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838-1902) - Lot 36
Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838-1902) The Embroiderer Model created around 1870, Hébrard edition from 1907 Bronze with brown patina Signed " DALOU ". Bears the stamp " CIRE PERDUE A.A. HEBRARD ". H. 31,5 cm Presented at the Salon of 1870, La Brodeuse offers its first success to Aimé-Jules Dalou. Representing the in- timacy of the woman in her daily life, a theme dear to the sculptor, a marble version was commissioned by the State. The war of 1870 interrupted the project and Dalou destroyed the marble ten years later. From 1871, the sculptor wanted to publish this model. Although there are a few rare reductions published by Eugène Legrain, the majority of the bronze prints were made by the Hébrard foundry.
