H. 34,5 cm PROVENANCE : - Collected in situ by Alexandre Dubroca (1899-1967), administrator in Gabon from 1930 to 1962 - Private collection, Paris, transmitted by family descent Kota Janus reliquary figure to be compared to group 21 of the classification retained by Alain and Françoise Chaffin, in their famous study on Kota reliquary figures. Both sides are richly decorated with ornamentation, and the stapling of the metal plates and the patina of the wooden core suggest that it was made in the past. Missing lozenge.
