Late 19th century FRENCH school after Jean-Antoine HOUDON (1741-1828) Joseph-Jérôme Lefrançois de Lalande (1732-1807), astronomer Proof in plaster. Bears the metallic stamp of the moulder and publisher Lorenzi. 2 rue Racine in Paris on the reverse. H.73 cm Small accidents and soiling. The workshop of the moulder and editor Lorenzi was founded in Paris in 1871 by Michel Lorenzi. The latter, originally from Tuscany, moved to Paris in 1868 and continued the family tradition. The workshop specializes in the realization of casts of famous models of French statuary and supplies many public institutions as well as several schools of Fine Arts
