One vol. in-16, bound in blond calf, boards framed with a double fillet and a roulette surrounding a rich decoration composed of 2 large fleurons facing each other on either side of a central quatrefoil and 6 curvilinear motifs enclosing a fleuron in dotted lines, spine ornamented with nerves, coupes decorated with a roulette, edges gilt - headpieces faded, corners pierced, slight spidering - 180 pp. with bands, lettering, and endpapers Summary of the history of Rome from Romulus to Augustus, inspired by Titus Live. The text is followed by the Abridgement of the history of the Roman people by Rufus Festus. The work is especially noteworthy for its attractive binding in the style of the 1630s.
